SI Ampang treats children from welfare homes

Children from welfare homes treated to movie

9 October 2017

SOROPTIMIST International Club of Ampang (SIA) organised an exclusive movie screening of The Lego Ninjago Movie for underprivileged children at a mall in Kuala Lumpur.

Two hundred children aged between two and 15 from various underprivileged homes and schools such as Rohingya Community School, Rumah Titian Kasih, Lighthouse and The Reading Room were greeted by SIA members with goodie bags filled with food and toys.

After an ice-breaking session, the children enjoyed the movie and popcorn. The theatre was filled with excitement as they watched their favourite Lego Ninja characters in action.

The outing, an annual event organised by SIA, was held with the assistance of corporate sponsors and the public who sponsored the children’s movie tickets.

It engages the public and community at all levels to make a positive difference through its wide range of community activities that focus on educating, empowering and enabling women and children.
